About

Hi, I'm Robert Nealan, and I'm a San Francisco based designer + developer with big plans for the world.

Originally from Benicia, California (don't go there), I accidentally stumbled into the tech industry by way of a high school rollercoaster fansite with friends, later followed by freelancing myself to death while working towards an architecture degree I'd never use from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I work full time consulting and building websites for clients through Atomi Design and created Designers Who Code to give a community for those who think web designers should be more than just pixel pushers.

When I'm not doing client work I can be found either working one of a myriad of side projects, designing physical products, or daydreaming of spontaneously traveling to far off lands. Past life adventures have included brief stints of residency in Austin/Washington D.C./Switzerland, cycling across the United States, and volunteering as a ranger in Yosemite National Park. Currently I'm based in Koh Tao, Thailand as part of a 7-month trip around the world.

This blog was designed/built by myself using Ghost with a dash of SCSS + Compass, Handlebars, Typekit, and a healthy amount of criticism/cynicism from good friends.
